Britain’s smallest castle is up for sale for a mere £550,000, roughly $689,000.
The 19th cen爱上海同城手机版 tury single-bedroom Molly’s Lodge is set on approximately 0.61 acres of land near the village of Little Wolford, Warwickshire, on the northern edge of the picturesque Cotswolds.
According to estate agent Savills, the Grade II-listed property was the former gate house to the Weston Park Estate.
The castle, thought to be the UK s tiniest, has a pyramidal slate roof and limestone towers. It also boasts two reception rooms, a self-contained annexe, and extensive gardens, including a small orchard.
The home is located near two mainline railway stations with direct services to London — Moreton-in-Mash station gets you to London Paddington in one hour and 45 minutes, while Banbury station is only one hour from London Marylebone.
Molly’s Lodge is certainly a unique Grade II listed home and there really isn’t much else like it in the area, said Iain Powis of Savills. The Cotswolds has a real breadth of architectural styles with everything from pretty thatched cottages through to grand manor houses and rectories, but this Gate Lodge offers something completely different.
Among the property s many castle-like features are polygonal corner turrets, an embattled parap上海千花网论坛 et and stone mullion win爱上海同城对对碰 dows. It was even designed by Edward Blore, who is known for completing John Nash’s design of Buckingham Palace, said Powis.

Real estate pros share their picks for books on the “machine age,” veganism and the Met’s last World Series win
Founder and CEO, WiredScore
What are you reading right now, or what did you finish most recently? “The Second Machine Age” by Erik Brynjolfsson and Andrew McAfee.
What spurred you to read that book? My company lives at the intersection of the digital and physical worlds — WiredScore certifies commercial bu爱上海同城 ildings, their infrastructure, connectivity and technological capacity — so the book was definitely in my wheelhouse.
Has anything you read in the book stuck with you? Other books dwell on the woes caused by technological displa上海千花网论坛 cement and unemployment. This one instead takes the “yes, and” approach of improvisational comedy. As humans, what we do with technology is in our hands.
Would you recommend it to others? Definitely, because the authors are so optimistic about 上海龙凤论坛 the benefits of technology for humanity. The authors note that the challenge now is that
much of technology’s benefits are not captured in statistical data, like gross domestic product, because they are absolutely free.

What are you reading right now? “The Happy Vegan” by Russell Simmons.
What spurred you to read that book? I recently became a vegan for health, humane and environmental reasons. My daughter had become one before me and turned me onto the idea. Since watching the documentary “What the Health,” I have beco[……]

Distressed debt tycoon David上海贵族宝贝论坛 Matlin is about to list his Soho pad, and he wants a king s ransom for it.
Matlin and his wife Lisa plan to list their full-floor penthouse at 419 Broome Street for $60 million, the New York Post reported.
There are doub上海贵族宝贝 ts that the couple will get a figure close to that lofty sum.
It is a beautifully done apartment, but it is not worth more than $30 million, a broker told The Post. In 2012, the penthouse hit the market for $25.5 million but was pulled off the market.
The most expensive apartment to ever close downtown was private equity billionaire Robert Smith s $59 million purchase at the Getty last month.
Matlin and his wife interviewed multiple brokers before picking a co-exclusive with Corcoran and CORE, but the details are still being hashed out, the report said.

NYC doorman sent sexually explicit, unsolicited photos to 6 women Police initially said there weren’t grounds to press charges, now lawmakers are trying to close loophole
(Credit: back photo by Dion Hinchcliffe)
A doorman was fired for sending sexually explicit photos and videos to six women who lived in the Tudor City Place co-op building where he worked.
Jonathon Aviles lost his job at the end of July after one of the women, whom he had sent photos of his genitals and videos of himself masturbating, gathered enough identifying information that the building s management confirmed he was the perpetrator, according to the New York Post.
We regretfully advise that it was recently discovered that a temporary (and now former) employee at the building used his position to obtain phone numbers of some building residents, sending them unsolicited and deeply distressing and offensi阿拉爱上海同城 ve communications and photos, Rebecca Zanes of PRC Management said in a statement issued to residents a week after Aviles sacking.
Some of the women who received the messages reported Aviles called them by their names and messaged them saying he d seen them in-person unbeknownst to them. At least one woman has changed her locks and taken back her spare key from the front desk.

Federal Reserve holds interest rate, stresses “patience” on future hikes The Fed’s decision comes amid a cooling housing market

The Federal Reserve has decided to hold interest rates steady, signaling a sharp departure from its recent policymaking.
The benchmark rate will stay between 2.25 and 2.5 percent, and the Fed said on Wednesday that it will be “patient” in making future rate decisions.
Some analysts take the Fed s latest comments to mean that the body will not raise rates in March either. Instead, officials seem more likely to raise rates once or twice in 2019, rather than three times, as previously expected. The Fed has increased rates in five consecutive quarters and nine times since December 2015.
The Federal Open Market Committee said in a statement on Wednesday that “The Committee continues to view sustained expansion of economic activity, strong labor market conditions, and inflation上海千花网论坛 near the Committee s symmetric 2 percent objective.”
But the decision comes amid volatile financial markets and a cooling U.S. housing market. There are a number of indicators suggesting the economy is starting to slow down, particularly the housing market. Will new Opportunity Zones rules propel an office boom? The regulations could make it easier for businesses to qualify for the tax breaks
Office building blueprints (Credit: iStock)
When Michael Tillman’s PTM Partners bought property in Overtown in February to build an 18-story apartment complex, it became one of the first Miami-based real estate firms to utilize the Opportunity Zone program.
The federal program is seen by many as the biggest economic boost to the real-estate industry since the 1031 Exchange. But given the murkiness of the Opportunity Zone guidelines, developers have been slow to get shovels in the ground.
Office developers were especially wary, given a rule that stipulated that at least 50 percent of a business income must come from within the Opportunity Zone in order to qualify for the tax breaks. That meant that these developers would have a harder time using the prospect of tax breaks to lure new tenants.
New proposals released by the Treasury and the IRS in April, however, make it easier for businesses to qualify for the Opportunity Zone tax benefits. And that, in turn, could stimulate new-office constructions as developers gear up to cater to the increased demand.
“This is going to make it easier for businesses to qualify and it’s going to be easier to lease (office) space,” said James Jago of Pebb Capital, who is working on projects in Opportunity Zones in New York and Florida.
